"At the Lost Film Fest [...] viewers are treated to the visual equivalent of a House DJ spinning records - Wired Magazine"
Taking on a role that is equal parts curator, storyteller, and emcee, Scott Beibin deftly weaves together a fast paced series of short pieces created by a who's who of contemporary filmmakers, vj's, and independent journalists. The result is a lush and immersive showcase that connects audiences with an international pantheon of influential and obscure auteurs. Beibin has collaborated and sourced materials from a vast network of journalists, artists and auteurs including The Yes Men, Naomi Klein, Big Noise Films, Justin Pearson (The Locust), Academy Award nominated director Sam Green, hip hop legend M-1 of Dead Prez, TV Sheriff, Gogol Bordello, and a cast of many more.
"Nothing symbolises the form of low-budget, guerrilla film-making and distribution better, perhaps, than the Lost film festival - Guardian UK"
The program travels the planet and explores the rapidly shifting political and cultural landscape of new a society in which information knows no borders and mediamaking tools are ubiquitous. Lost Film Fest is a testament to the importance of free media in a democracy.
